Find a Node - Use these links to navigate to any of the 8 publicly accessible PDS Nodes.

This bar indicates that you are within the PDS enterprise which includes 6 science discipline nodes and 2 support nodes which are overseen by the Project Management Office at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). Each node is led by an expert in the subject discipline, supported by an advisory group of other practitioners of that discipline, and subject to selection and approval under a regular NASA Research Announcement.

DATA_SET_DESCRIPTION Data Set Overview:This data set contains derived data combining calibrated mass spectrareferred to FSS Mission Phase.Data:Both data, scientific and housekeeping, are collected in this dataset. They referred to CODMAC Level 5.The level 5 data product contains ion counts for mass spectra ateach observation site and ion counts for each of the main compoundsobtained from Ptolemy sniff operations made during the Philaefirst-science sequence.Processing:Only CODMAC Level 5 data are present in this data set.Mass spectra with the same mass range (using the same scan function)are summed to produce a single mass spectrum with calibrated mass range. In addition integer masses are assigned for the channel closest to theinteger mass.Ion counts were determined for each mass by using a rolling sum (n : 11for WGA 3, n : 7 for WGA 4) of the ion counts centered on the assignedmass (using the data set above). A single combined spectrum was producedfor each observation by summing WGA3 and WGA4, with values extrapolatedfor the missing ranges using the ratio of total ion counts in theoverlapping range.Coordinate System:The geometry items SC_SUN_POSITION_VECTOR, SC_TARGET_POSITION_VECTORand SC_TARGET_VELOCITY_VECTOR provided in the label of the dataproduct are relative to the Earth Mean Equator and Equinox referenceframe of J2000.SUB_SPACECRAFT_LATITUDE, SUB_SPACECRAFT_LONGITUDE are given in thePLANETOCENTRIC coordinate system. These parameters are computed attime t:START_TIME. Distances are given in km, angles in degrees.

CITATION_DESCRIPTION I. Wright, S. Barber, A. Morse, D. Andrews, ROSETTA-LANDER 67P PTOLEMY 5 FSS V1.0, RL-C-PTOLEMY-5-FSS-V1.0, ESA Planetary Science Archive and NASA Planetary Data System, 2017.
ABSTRACT_TEXT This archive contains derived data from the PTOLEMY instrument onboard ROSETTA Lander, acquired during the FSS mission phase. The primary target is the comet 67P/CHURYUMOV-GERASIMENKO. It also contains documentation which describes the PTOLEMY experiment. The data archived in this data set conform to the Planetary Data System (PDS) Standards, Version 3.6.
