Data Set Overview : The data from the ROSETTA PLASMA CONSORTIUM (RPC) Ion CompositionAnalyser (ICA) was submitted by Hans Nilsson for the RPCICA team. The data set contains data of mass resolved positively charged ionsin the energy range a few eV to 40 keV. The raw data is separated intomass channels or mass channel ranges, not actual ion mass. For mostcircumstances, significant counts are seen only for certaindirections, mass channels and energy levels. The data is thus sparsewith many zeros. The unit is COUNTS. This dataset contains RAW DATA from the RPCICA instrument onmission ROSETTA during the flyby of asteroid Lutetia. RPC-ICAsuffered an overheating event shortly after turn on, and did notobtain any measurements of value.Data set version 3 replaces a previously delivered data set.Important changes are the the expansion of data to a uniform resolution,Inclusion of the mode variable and new quality flags in the data andmoving information about software version, BAD_HV_MASK and SHADOW_MASKto the label.

An automatic screening removing most corrupt data has been used.Some faulty data may remain, this is usually obvious from the look ofthe data. Cross-talk affects some directional and mass resolution.A quality flag also indicates data with potential problems concerningnoise levels and stability of the energy scale. Due to an overheating event turning the instrument off shortly afterturn-on, RPCICA did not obtain any useful measurements.
