Data Set Overview
=================
This dataset contains data generated by MIRO during the Earth
Swing-by 2 mission phase of Rosetta. These data cover the
following periods and activities:
(All are in 2009, so Year is omitted from dates.)
Start Time Stop Time Activity
(mm-ddThh:mm) (mm-ddThh:mm)
11-08T03:10 11-08T07:10 Raster scan of Moon while
unresolved, in order to determine
MIRO boresight position (MR04A).
11-13T05:20 11-13T14:30 Observations of Earth.
11-13T15:40 11-13T18:20 Observations of Moon.
11-18T03:10 11-18T07:10 Raster scan of Moon while
unresolved, in order to determine
MIRO boresight position (MR04A).
Operations on 2009-11-13 (DOY 317):
The sequences dedicated to MIRO were (1) an Earth stare offset
from nadir by about 11 degrees (to keep solar elongation < 140
deg.), from 07:20 to 08:20 (MR02), and (2) a dwell on the Moon's
limb near the North Pole, from 17:20 to 18:20 (MR03), in order to
search for H2O. However, outside these sequences, the MIRO
instrument remained on during several maneuvers riding along with
other instruments, gathering data, which are included in the files
in the DATA subdirectory.

Geometry Information
====================
The MIRO data file labels contain vectors specifying the position
of the Sun and Target body relative to the spacecraft and the
velocity of the Target body relative to the spacecraft. The
values of the keywords SC_SUN_POSITION_VECTOR,
SC_TARGET_POSITION_VECTOR and SC_TARGET_VELOCITY_VECTOR are
related to the ECLIPJ2000 reference frame. The values of
SUB_SPACECRAFT_LATITUDE and SUB_SPACECRAFT_LONGITUDE are northern
latitude and eastern longitude in the standard planetocentric IAU
frame. All values are computed for the the midpoint
of the observations. Distances are given in , velocities in
, angles in .
This information was obtained using the following NAIF/SPICE
kernel files:
ORHR_______________00089.BSP
de405s.bsp
The vectors were retrieved using the NAIF call SPKEZ() with a
correction for one-way light time and stellar aberration using a
Newtonian formulation.
