DATA_SET_DESCRIPTION |
The descriptions in this file were written by Tony Farnham usinginformation from the ``Stardust Mission Plan document'' (used bypermission from the Stardust project). Data Set Overview: This data set presents the temperature measurements of the StardustSample Return Capsule (SRC). Twelve different sensors were placed atvarious locations in the SRC and used to monitor the thermalenvironment and the temperature of the individual components of theinstrument. Temperatures measured by each sensor were recorded, typically every few minutes, throughout the mission. The lastmeasurements were taken shortly before the SRC separated from the mainbody of the spacecraft. SRC Temperature Sensors ----------------------- The following temperature sensors were installed inside Stardust Sample Return Capsule (SRC). The shoulder and wrist sensor readouts are probably most representative of the collector temperature. Avionics Side of the SRC Deck: ------------------------------ +Z ^ | | Shoulder motor / . ----/ .
