DATA_SET_DESCRIPTION Data Set Overview ================= This data set contains Ulysses Energetic Particle Composition Experiment (EPAC) 1 hour averaged proton and electron flux data from all data channels submitted from the Ulysses Jupiter encounter 1992-Jan-25 to 1992-Feb-28. Data ==== The file names for ULYSSES-KEP Experiment data files are: Tyydoy.TAB These are ASCII files. The data entries in the files are always single precision float values containing one hour averages in Flux / (s cm^2 sr) starting at midnight for each day. The corresponding times are integers indicating start of average. The entries are separated by blanks. Then the total length of the ASCII records are: 3757 Bytes with 24 records per file. Bad or absent data are flagged with -9.99999e+10. The data entries include: OPTL{1-4} Omni-directional-Protons (520-1423 keV) Spin Averages Telescopes 1-4 PRTL{2,3} Proton-Rate Sectored (~500-1000 keV) Telescopes 2 and 3, Sectors 1-8 ELTL{1-4} Electrons Low (100-380 keV) Spin Averages Telescopes 1-4 EHTL{1-4} Electrons High (E > 180 keV) Spin Averages Telescopes 1-4 ERL/ERM/ERH Event-Rate Low, Medium and High Omni-directional Channels PSTL{1-4} Proton Spectral Telescope 1-4 Channel 1-8, Sectors 1-8, where: PS energy channels in keV: Channel 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 Telescope TL1 508- 520- 541- 574- 629- 768- 990- 1423-1559 TL2 508- 520- 541- 574- 633- 768- 994- 1431-1559 TL3 508- 520- 541- 574- 633- 772- 994- 1435-1493 TL4 508- 520- 541- 574- 633- 768- 990- 1423-1546 The record structure is as follows: 1 character string (24 Bytes) with the format yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ss.sssZ yyyy = year mm = month dd = day hh = hours mm = minutes ss.sss = seconds 287 reals (13 Bytes, e.g. -1.23456E+03) for OPTL1 OPTL2 OPTL3 OPTL4 PRTL2 (8 sectors) PRTL3 (8 sectors) ELTL1 EHTL1 ELTL2 EHTL2 ELTL3 EHTL3 ELTL4 EHTL4 ERL ERM ERH PSTL1 (8 channels with 8 sectors; CH1SE1, CH1SE2, ..., CH2SE1, ...)
