Target Description
    ==================
      WASP-3 is a star with a detected substellar companion, WASP-3 b, and
is a target of the Extrasolar Planet Observation and CHaracterization
(EPOCh) phase of the NASA EPOXI mission. Other designations for this
star are GSC 02636-00195 and 2MASS J18343163+3539415. The star
has the following astrometric and photometric properties:

        Spectral type : F7V
        Apparent V Magnitude : 10.64
        Distance : 223 pc
        Mass : 1.24 (-0.11/+0.06) solar masses
        Radius : 1.31 (-0.12/+0.06) solar radii
        RA : 18 34 31.625 (FK5, epoch and equinox 2000)
        Dec : +35 39 41.55 (FK5, epoch and equinox 2000)

The substellar companion WASP-3 b was discovered in 2007 by the
Wide Angle Search for Planets (WASP). The known properties of this
      extrasolar planet are:

        Mass : 1.76 (-0.14/+0.06) Jupiter masses
        Semi major axis : 0.0317 (+0.001/-0.0006) AU
        Orbital period : 1.846834 (-/+2e-6) days
        Eccentricity : 0
        Radius : 1.31 (-0.12/+0.05) Jupiter radii
        Inclination : 85.06 (-0.16/+0.15) deg

The astrometric and photometric properties were taken from the
21 October 2008 update for this planetary system in the Extrasolar
Planets Encyclopedia. The encyclopedia is maintained by the Paris
Observatory and is available online at http://exoplanet.eu. Please
