Target Description

XO-2 is a star with a detected substellar companion, XO-2 b, and
is a target of the Extrasolar Planet Observation and CHaracterization
(EPOCh) phase of the NASA EPOXI mission. Other designations for this
star are GSC 03413-00005 and 2MASS J07480647+5013328. The star
has the following astrometric and photometric properties:
Spectral type : K0V
Apparent V Magnitude : 11.18
Distance : 149 (-/+4) pc
Mass : 0.98 (-/+0.02) solar masses
Radius : 0.964 (-/+0.02) solar radii
RA : 07 48 06.468 (FK5, epoch and equinox 2000)
Dec : +50 13 32.96 (FK5, epoch and equinox 2000)
The substellar companion XO-2 b was discovered in 2007 by the XO
Project (XO). The known properties of this extrasolar planet are:
Mass : 0.57 (-/+0.06) Jupiter masses
Semi major axis : 0.0369 (+/-0.002) AU
Orbital period : 2.615838 (-/+8e-6) days
Eccentricity : 0
Radius : 0.973 (-/+0.03) Jupiter radii
Inclination : > 88.58 deg
